What human behavior correlates to spiritual idolatry?
Hi Everyone,
GOD is supernatural. Supernatural means more natural, more natural than we are. That means that HE feels things much more intensely than we do.
If you notice when you study the Bible, you will see that GOD uses many metaphors for us to understand more clearly. GOD designed families, and in Heaven we are like one big family, and GOD is our FATHER. When we do things that hurt our FATHER, we can get a sense of how we hurt him by comparing it to the hurt that we also experience in our families here on earth.
Idolatry is idol worship, and when someone does so, they are worshiping another god. They are putting something or someone above and more important than our FATHER. That hurts FATHER very much. Symbolically, we are The Bride Of CHRIST. So, if someone worships idols, they are cheating on CHRIST.
All idol worship is a type of satan worship and leads back to satan. When satan comes at the end time, he comes before CHRIST returns and disguises himself as CHRIST. "Anti" in the Greek means "instead of", not against. So, satan comes instead of CHRIST and deceives the people to think that he is CHRIST.
The only way that people can be deceived is if they don't know the TRUTH. So, it is important, and in fact can be a matter of Life and death that people know the TRUTH. The bottom line is that idolatry is a comparison to adultery. So, just like we would feel if our spouse cheated on us with another outside of the marriage, GOD feels much more intense hurt when one of HIS children worship another god. If GOD'S children, being The Bride Of CHRIST cheat on the Groom before HE returns, HE will say "Depart from ME, I never knew you.", unless you have repented while you are still in the flesh.
So, the answer is idolatry is compared with adultery.
The WORD is GOD, and it is a letter from HIM. You get to know HIM by reading HIS letter to us. HE tells us everything that happened before, and what will happen all the way up to the end in HIS letter to us. Most people don't take the time to read HIS letter. They do not care to learn HIS WORD, or put the effort to study it properly. If you haven’t read HIS letter and gotten to know HIM, how will you know when the imposter sneaks in to take the Groom’s place? In 2nd Thessalonians, chapter two. GOD says that HE will send a strong delusion to those that don't have a love for the TRUTH, so that they will believe a lie. The lie that GOD is talking about in those verses is satan's lie when satan performs miracles on the earth to deceive man, and claims to be GOD. So you see, GOD gets plenty of hurt from HIS children, and gets plenty angry with them also.
