Potters' Clay And The Ten Horns Of Iron
Are these ten horns angels, or are they ten earthly kings (as in flesh people)?
Revelation 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
Revelation 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
The ten horns that are part of the beast of Revelation 13, come with satan when satan is cast to the earth in Revelation 12. They don't have kingdoms, but are given power as kings for one hour with the beast. Horns are symbolic of power, so these ten horns get their kingdoms by that power. These ten horns mix with the ten earthly kings as described in the book of Daniel. But iron and clay won't mix. It's brittle.
Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
Revelation 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
Daniel 2:41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
Daniel 2:42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
Daniel 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
But, how do we know that these ten horns are angels?
We can tell by the context that these horns (given power as kings) are kings during the hour of temptation with satan, and they don't have a kingdom until that time.
But one way to know for sure is to look at the word "power" in verse Revelation 17:13. They give their power unto the beast, but what kind of power is it? It's miraculous power. Earthly kings can't do miracles. So these ten horns are angels. To be a little more accurate, they are fallen angels.
Here are the verses again:
Revelation 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
Revelation 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power G1411 and strength unto the beast.
