The Thousand Years, The Defeat of Satan, Judgment Before the Great White Throne

This chapter is known as the Millennium chapter.

The LORD’S Day, The Thousand Years

The Seventh Trump has already sounded. Everyone is in spirit bodies at this time.

Revelation 20:1  And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

[
Note:
We do not know what it would take to bind a powerful angel, but we can see from the book of Daniel that when this great tree was cut off into a stump that it had two materials placed around it. One of iron, and one of brass. The iron would prevent physical movement (a prison), the brass would prevent spiritual movement. During the Millennium, the devil will be prevented from going out of his prison, just as he cannot physically leave his prison at this time. In the Millennium, he will also have his spirit confined. This prevents him from spiritually going out as a roaring lion to seek whom he may devour..

1 Peter 5:6  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1 Peter 5:7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1 Peter 5:9  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
1 Peter 5:10  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
1 Peter 5:11  To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Daniel 4:4  I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:
Daniel 4:5  I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.
Daniel 4:6  Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.
Daniel 4:7  Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.
Daniel 4:8  But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,
Daniel 4:9  O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.
Daniel 4:10  Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.
Daniel 4:11  The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:
Daniel 4:12  The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
Daniel 4:13  I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;
Daniel 4:14  He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:
Daniel 4:15  Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:
Daniel 4:16  Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.
Daniel 4:17  This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.
Daniel 4:18  This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

Revelation 20:2  And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Revelation 20:3  And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

[
Note:
Isaiah 14:12  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Isaiah 14:13  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isaiah 14:14  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Isaiah 14:15  Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Isaiah 14:16  They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

The LORD’S Day (the Millennium) starts when JESUS returns at the Seventh Trump and is one thousand years long.

2 Peter 3:5  For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
2 Peter 3:6  Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
2 Peter 3:7  But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
2 Peter 3:8  But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2 Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2 Peter 3:11  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
2 Peter 3:12  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2 Peter 3:13  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

So, the devil will not be able to tempt or interfere in any way with the Iron Rod discipline of The LORD’S Day. Those who will undergo this discipline during the thousand years must overcome satan when he is loosed for a little season at the end of the thousand years. If they do not overcome satan at the end of the thousand years, they will receive the second death, which is the death of the soul when they are cast into the lake of Fire along with the devil after the great white throne judgment. Those who overcome satan when he is loosed for that short season will obtain the second resurrection.

We are all in spiritual bodies at this time, which means that we have all put on incorruption. That means we do not decay, age, or get sick. We have an incorruptible body. But only some have put on immortality. Putting on immortality means resurrection. It means eternal life. Those that have not put on immortality means they are still mortal (liable to die) and must overcome satan at the end of the thousand years in order to put on immortality (the second resurrection). If they do not overcome satan, they will not become immortal and will die the second death in the lake of Fire.

1 Corinthians 15:51  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1 Corinthians 15:52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:53  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1 Corinthians 15:54  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Revelation 20:4  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

[
Note:
The election will not worship satan. We will live and reign with CHRIST for the thousand years.

Revelation 6:9  And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
Revelation 6:10  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
Revelation 6:11  And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Ephesians 1:4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Ephesians 1:5  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Ephesians 1:6  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Ephesians 1:7  In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Ephesians 1:8  Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
Ephesians 1:9  Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
Ephesians 1:10  That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
Ephesians 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Ephesians 1:12  That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

Revelation 13:8  And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Revelation 17:8  The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
]

Revelation 20:5  But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

[
Note:
The rest of the Spiritually dead will not have immortality until the end of the thousand years, and only if they put on immortality by overcoming satan at the end of the thousand years. Those that have already overcome satan have put on immortality at the Seventh Trump; this is the first resurrection. Those that overcome satan at the end of the thousand years put on immortality at that time. That will be the second resurrection. Those that fail to overcome satan at the end of the thousand years do not receive the second resurrection, but instead receive the second death in the lake of Fire.
]

Revelation 20:6  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

[
Note:
A priest teaches and a king reigns or rules. They shall be kings and priests with CHRIST for the thousand years. The reason the second death has no power on those that have part in the first resurrection is because they have already overcome satan. They do not need to be tested at the end of the thousand years when satan is released from his prison for the little season. They have already made the Eternity.
]

The Defeat of Satan

Revelation 20:7  And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Revelation 20:8  And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog G1136 and Magog, G3098 to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

[
Note:
Many will not overcome satan even at the end of the Millennium, and will be deceived into siding with satan. Gog and Magog are not the same Gog and Magog that is written in the book of Ezekiel. Gog in Ezekiel 38 is Russia, whereas Gog in these verses in Revelation are followers of antichrist. Gog and Magog can also mean east and west in verse eight, above.

G1136
Γώγ
Gōg
gogue
Of Hebrew origin [H1463]; Gog, a symbolic name for some future Antichrist: - Gog.

G3098
Μαγώγ
Magōg
mag-ogue'
Of Hebrew origin [H4031]; Magog, a foreign nation, that is, (figuratively) an Antichristian party: - Magog.

Gog in these verses in Ezekiel (below) is the chief prince. The chief prince is Roshe, which came from Red, which came from Esau. Over the years, Roshe became Russ, then finally Russia of today.

Ezekiel 38:2  Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief H7218 prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
Ezekiel 38:3  And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
Ezekiel 38:4  And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

H7218
רֹאשׁ
rô'sh
roshe
From an unused root apparently meaning to shake; the head (as most easily shaken), whether literally or figuratively (in many applications, of place, time, rank, etc.): - band, beginning, captain, chapiter, chief (-est place, man, things), company, end, X every [man], excellent, first, forefront, ([be-]) head, height, (on) high (-est part, [priest]), X lead, X poor, principal, ruler, sum, top.
]

Revelation 20:9  And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Revelation 20:10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. G1519 G165 G165

[
Note:
At this point, the devil and his followers are finished. “for ever and ever” is a Hebraism that means finished. They will be no more. “for ever and ever” also means until the end of the age. And at this point, this age is almost over.

G1519
εἰς
eis
ice
A primary preposition; to or into (indicating the point reached or entered), of place, time, or (figuratively) purpose (result, etc.); also in adverbial phrases.: - [abundant-] ly, against, among, as, at, [back-] ward, before, by, concerning, + continual, + far more exceeding, for [intent, purpose], fore, + forth, in (among, at unto, -so much that, -to), to the intent that, + of one mind, + never, of, (up-) on, + perish, + set at one again, (so) that, therefore (-unto), throughout, till, to (be, the end, -ward), (here-) until (-to), . . . ward, [where-] fore, with. Often used in composition with the same general import, but only with verbs (etc.) expressing motion (literallyor figuratively.

G165
αἰών
aiōn
ahee-ohn'
From the same as G104; properly an age; by extension perpetuity (also past); by implication the world; specifically (Jewish) a Messianic period (present or future): - age, course, eternal, (for) ever (-more), [n-]ever, (beginning of the, while the) world (began, without end). Compare G5550.

You can also see that this is the point that the devil does not exist anymore by his death sentence in Ezekiel 28:18. The death sentence is to be turned to ashes from the inside out in front of all who behold him.

Ezekiel 28:18  Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
Ezekiel 28:19  All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
]

The Great White THRONE Judgment

Revelation 20:11  And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Revelation 20:12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

[
Note:
This is the GREAT WHITE THRONE Judgment. The Spiritually dead are being judged. The reason that the book of Life is opened is to add names to it. When we are here on earth before JESUS returns, we live by faith. In the Millennium, it is not by faith. JESUS is there. Even though only the election can be near HIM, everyone else can still see HIM. They know HE is there. If you know HE is there, what is there to have faith on. HE is there. So, the dead are judged by their works, not by faith. These that are dead are in incorruptible bodies, but they have not put on immortality. If their names are added to the book of Life, they will put on immortality. This is the second resurrection.
]

Revelation 20:13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Revelation 20:14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Revelation 20:15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

[
Note:
Anyone not written in the book of Life will be cast into the lake of Fire. This is the second death. The first death is the death of the flesh. The second death is the death of the soul.

Matthew 10:26  Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
Matthew 10:27  What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
Matthew 10:28  And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
